Mainz/Stuttgart/Essen, August 2011. The BoschGlobe, which has been developed during Bosch’s anniversary year “125 years of Bosch” by mediaman, will be awarded the “red dot award: communication design”. Due to its “originality” and emotional as well as creative conciseness, the project of the Mainz (Germany) based digital agency could successfully hold its ground against several thousand submissions from 40 countries.
The BoschGlobe is interactive tool and social-media platform: visitors of the site can send their congratulations, upload pictures, express wishes for the future and interactively experience past, presence and future of the company. In real-time the BoschGlobe aggregates social web postings, visualizes data concerning future developments such as climate change or mobility and presents videos made by some of the about 290.000 Bosch employees worldwide.
After the nomination for the “Deutscher Preis für Onlinekommnunikation” (German Award for Online Communications) and the award as Webby Honoree, the red dot award is the biggest success for the BoschGlobe so far. Together with the other winners, mediaman will be honored at the prize giving ceremony at the “Konzerthaus” in Berlin on October, 7th 2011. At some point during the subsequent “Designer`s Night”, all awarded works will be presented at the special exhibition “Design on stage – winners red dot award: communication design 2011”. Furthermore, the project will be displayed online as well as published on a double page of the red dot yearbook.
Red dot design award
The red dot design award is the largest design competition worldwide. Already since 1954 the “Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen (then: Industrieform e.V.) has been awarding outstanding design. Since then, the desired “red dot” has established itself as an internationally recognized quality label. Nowadays, it is being awarded in different disciplines. The winning works are displayed in the red dot museum which hosts the largest collection of contemporary design worldwide.
