Mainz/Darmstadt, June 3, 2009. The Internet agency mediaman, Mainz and deepartmend Kommunikationsdesign, Darmstadt are bundling their experience in the development of rich Internet applications (RIA): these two partners are jointly establishing the “mediaman visual lab.”

“Interactive, multimedia applications are becoming ever more important in digital communication – whether on the Web, at the point of sale or on mobile end user devices. Here, together with our proven partner deepartmend, we want to grow,” explains mediaman Managing Director Fabian Fischer about the new project. The expertise of both sides should be dovetailed in the mediaman visual lab in order to be able to develop and market rich Internet applications, Flash and 3D animations still faster and more cost-effectively.

“We see the quality of our work in the lively interface design, which doesn’t just look good, but also feels good,” is how Thomas Quiring (deepartmend) describes the requirement. The challenge lies in “visual explanations,” the 3D visualization of products, processes, and data: “Entirely in the sense of a ‘visual lab,’ we want to research, experiment, and go new ways,” adds his colleague Sascha Selent. For several years already, both agencies have been working jointly on Flash-based, interactive applications for the Internet. This way, there arose the “light house” for OSRAM, the mediaman action eLights, and also Flash microsites for Merck KgaA.
