Mainz/Boston, 11 May. Growth in new markets - a new venture begins for the owner-operated internet agency mediaman, one of Germany’s top 30 new media service providers. The Mainz enterprise has opened a new branch in Boston, USA. This is the second overseas location of the agency, following the founding of mediaman Shanghai in 2006. In Boston, a team of seven, under the direction of mediaman co-founder Armin Bieser, will develop and actualize digital market strategies for American clients - in collaboration with local partners as well as closely linked colleagues in Germany and China.

“In spite of the challenges we are facing, as all businesses are at present, we are intent on pursuing our vision of serving firsthand our global clients in three of their main markets,” says Armin Bieser. “Globalization is here to stay, and small owner-operated agencies like mediaman have a distinct advantage when competing with the large networks – through flexibility and creative ideas.”

The leap across the pond has been some time in the making and a well-rehearsed German-American team is spearheading the launch in Boston for mediaman. In addition to Armin Bieser, the team consists of Katharina Gleissberg as creative director and Sylke Laine, director of concept development. Both have actively worked for mediaman in Mainz for a decade; most of these years as a creative direction duo. Further team members are the experienced business consultant Greg Fitzgerald, responsible for strategy [[[&]]] research, as well as the marketing expert Greg Hanifee, taking on the tasks of customer service for mediaman USA. Hanifee is already connected with mediaman through overseas experience including four years in Asia: he is one of the founding shareholders of mediaman Shanghai. Joining the team as account manager is Brenna McCormick, an IMC brand strategist with a background in luxury retail and retail technology consulting. Last but not least, mediaman co-founder professor Thomas Vogel will take a leading role in the development of the new site: since 2001, professor Vogel holds a teaching chair for global marketing communication at the renowned Emerson College.
